Awards for Meritorious conduct are given when a high degree of courage, endurance, initiative or devotion to duty, often under suffering, without necessarily any element of risk
Scout awards and decorations and the emblems corresponding to them are worn immediately above the right breast pocket flap or in the same position on blouses, dresses or sweatshirts in the following order from the wearer's left to right: awards for gallantry, meritorious conduct; good service the Chief scouts Personal Award, Long service decorations. The Cornwell Scout Badge and its emblem are worn above this line of emblems.
The Highest Award for Meritorious conduct was the Chief Scouts Medal, Second was Chief Scouts Commendation followed by the Chief Scout Certificate.
