Tracker Scout Badge Khaki Woven War Time
The Stalker / Tracker were worn on the Right arm in between the shoulder and elbow.
A scout could not gain any more than 6 proficiency badges before gaining a First Class scout badge.
To earn this badge a scout must do the following *
(1) Demonstrate his ability to stalk and use cover, camouflage, winds, shadows and background by doing the following by day:
(a) Cross half a mile of open country to approach an observer in a known position. Or in town: Shadow an observer for half a mile and report his actions.
(b) Camouflage himself against three different backgrounds, if possible under varying weather conditions. And by night
(c) Approach, unseen and unheard, within a reasonable distance, according to local conditions, an observer whose position is known.
(d) Locate and pass between two observers stationed a reasonable distance apart according to conditions at the time of the test.
(2) Give proof of having stalked and studied at least four wild birds or animals in their natural state in the open, by producing sketches or photos which he has made, or by describing the results of his observations.
(3) Make at least three plaster casts of the tracks of animals, one of which must be wild.
