Swimmer Scout Badge Blue Woven and Bound 1934 to 1967
The Swimmer was worn on the Right arm
in between the shoulder and elbow.
A scout could not gain any more than
6 proficiency badges before gaining a First Class scout badge.
To earn this badge a scout must do
the following *
(1) Swim 50 yards with clothes on (shirt, shorts, socks as a minimum)
and undress in the water with feet of the bottom.
(2) Swim 30 yards on breast, and 30 yards on back either with hands
clasped or arms folded in front of body and then a further 30 yards any style,
making 90 yards in all.
(3) Dive from surface of water and recover with both hands an object
from the bottom. Water not to be more than six feet deep.
(4) Execute a neat dive from the side of the bath.
