The Silver Wolf is awarded by the Chief Scout and is awarded for service of the most exceptional nature. The award is not normally made until at least a Silver Acorn has been gained. This normally mean’s that it is not awarded till at least 30 Years of service has been made,  However this may be awarded for less years of service. 

The Silver Wolf was originally a boys award received for collecting a number of proficiency badges, the Kings Scout Award and performing a special act of service or gallantry.
