Fireman Senior Scouts Badge 1958 to 1964
To earn this badge a scout must do
the following *
(1) Pass or have passed the fire fighter badge
(2) Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the fire risks, and proper
precautions for one of the following : ships, mines, two types of factory,
aircraft, hospitals and his own place of employment Show that he understands
what is meant by “ spontaneous combustion,” where it is likely to arise, and
the precautions to take.
(3) Demonstrate that he
understands the functions of two of the following -fire-resisting doors,
sprinkler systems, rescue reels, hose reels, private fire-alarms and internal
hydrant systems.
(4) Demonstrate that he
understands the fire risks and pre- cautions to be taken in places of public
entertainment.
(5) Plan the fire precautions and seating arrangements for a Scour or
similar entertainment.
(6) Demonstrate the following: rescue of injured persons, rescue by
ladder, and lowering by a line.
