Clerk / Scribe Felt Scout Badge Khaki 1910 to 1928
This badge was known as either "Clerk" or "Scribe"
There were two Clerk / Scribe badges produced; one had the Quill and Envelope and the other was a Quill and paper.
First Issued in 1910,
This proficiency badge was worn on the right arm, starting from
the cuff upwards in order of achievement.
To Earn
the Clerk Badge*
Must pass test in handwriting,
hand-printing, typewriting (or as an
alternative to typewriting, shorthand 20 words
a minute as a minimum), writing a letter from memory on a subject given verbally five minutes
previously, simple book-keeping
