BP Weatherman Scout Badge Blue Printed War Time

A scout could not gain any more than 6 proficiency badges before gaining a First Class scout badge.

To earn this badge a scout must do the following *

(1) Keep from his own observations a daily record of the weather for one month, using Beaufort letters and symbols, and including three at least of the following:  Wind force and direction.  Cloud types and conditions.  Temperature.  Barometer reading. 

(2) Construct a simple rain gauge. 

(3) Be able to explain the formation of rain, snow, sleet, hail, fog and rime. 

(4) Be able to recognise and name six different cloud forms and explain their significance. 

(5) Know at least four natural signs foretelling fine weather and six foretelling bad weather as applicable to his own district.
