BP Rescuer Scout Badge blue Printed War Time

A scout could not gain any more than 6 proficiency badges before gaining a First Class scout badge.

To earn this badge a scout must do the following *

Be able to do 10 of the following, at least five of which, selected by the Examiner, must be demonstrated :—

(1) Demonstrate one method of rescue and of release in the water, with a patient about the size of the rescuer. Patient to be carried ten yards.  (2) Demonstrate the Schafer method of re-suscitation and the promotion of warmth and  circulation.  (3) Swim 50 yards on the back attired in  Shirt and shorts with light life-line attached to  (4) Throw a 60-foot life-line to fall between two pegs twice  out of every three throws. Pegs to be four feet apart and 40 feet from thrower.  (5) Show method of rescue in the following   (i) House fire, first floor unconscious patient.  (ii) Ice breaking.  (m) Car accident, with or without fire.  (iv) Contact with live electric wire.
