BP Handyman Scout Badge blue Printed War Time

A scout could not gain any more than 6 proficiency badges before gaining a First Class scout badge.

To earn this badge a scout must do the following *

Be able to do 10 of the following, at least ?ve of which, selected by the Examiner, must be demonstrated :—

(1) Paint a door or gate.(2) Whitewash or distemper a wall.(3) Adjust an electric bell, replace electric light bulbs, shades and fuses.  (4) Replace a tap washer. (5) Take up, beat and relay a carpet. (6) Sharpen knives.(7) Know what immediate steps to take in the cases of burst water pipes or gas leak. (8) Attend to stopped gutters or waste pipes. (9) Repair a gate or fence. (10) Sew on a button neatly. (11) Darn a small hole in a sock. (12) Oil and adjust a lawn-mower.
