BP Camper Scout Badge Blue Printed War Time
The Camper was worn on the Right arm in between the shoulder and elbow.
A scout could not gain any more than 6 proficiency badges before gaining a First Class scout badge.
To earn this badge a scout must do the following
(1) Know what the normal requirements are in regard to
(a) Personal kit for a week’s camp. (
(b) Personal kit for a week-end hike or cruise.
(c) The equipment and rations for a week-end Patrol camp or cruise (seven Scouts). Demonstrate the packing of his personal kit in (b) in rucksack or kitbag.
(2) Either know the principal points to look for when selecting a Patrol or Troop camp site, and describe with rough plan how he would lay out a Patrol camp with reference to tent, kitchen, sanitation, etc.: or know how to select an anchorage, mooring or berth for -a rowing or sailing vessel or a sea-going vessel.
(3) Make and show the following knots in use: Slip Reef, Double Sheet Bend, Figure of Eight, Bowline on Bight and Manharness Hitch. Pitch, strike, pack and know how to take care of a Patrol tent.
(4) While living in camp cook all meals for himself for 24 hours to the satisfaction of the Examiner or a Scouter. While in camp he must make satisfactory arrangements for storing of food and disposal of refuse.
(5) Have camped under canvas with a Troop or Patrol for a total of not less than 15 nights.
