To earn the Blacksmith
Badge*
Must be able to forge iron to simple forms, viz., S hook, ring, staple, holdfast, or pipe-hook; weld together two pieces of iron; make a horseshoe, and shoe and rough a horse correctly or. Alternatively in manufacturing districts, pass some test of equivalent difficulty; and know how to use a sledge hammer and be able to temper steel.
